One of my favorite hobbies is „fixing things.“ Unfortunately, I don’t get to do it often enough. In the basement I have a workshop with tools, machines, and many „project boxes,“ as I call them. Every box contains a device or an old tool that is waiting to be repaired or finished. I love to find out why a device doesn’t work and get it running again. Ultimately, that is what I do as a consultant – and I derive great satisfaction from this.
Last year, I made a small series of concrete lamps myself. I wanted to do something creative, gifts for friends, something analog with a retro style, with an amorphous surface and warm light. I am currently planning a blacksmith workshop together with a friend. We want to forge knives, we really got deep into the subject matter, we know what we need – theoretically, we are master blacksmiths. I am sure that the first knife won’t be perfect yet, but the second one will be really good – once we have analyzed the material, understood it, found a solution, and tested it in practical application – just as I do with my client topics.
