Based on their respective life phase, we help our employees find and design their own personal way – for example with flexible work hour models, leave times, maternity/paternity leave and individual vacation regulations. There is no “up or out” with us. Our employees are free to pursue their career at their own speed and with their own goals. With our well thought-out offers, we consider the situation of our future employees, which sets us apart from other consultancies.
Further education programs
The individual training and further education plan of each employee consists of at least 2 weeks per year. The goal is to support personal strengths and work on weaknesses based on three main areas:
- Personal Skills: This is about personal appearance and one’s own effect as well as presentation tips and strategies along with rhetorical skills. Our employees learn a lot about themselves during these courses and how to approach different clients and characters to achieve optimal cooperation.
- Method Training: this area focuses on methods to analyze and develop solution concepts and apply them – tools of the trade of a consultant.
- Technical and Industry Expertise: in order to provide clients with a competitive edge, we must always be at the forefront of development, or – even better – one step ahead.
In addition to training classes that cover several days, there are half-day classes every 2 to 3 weeks on different topics – from the presentation of new tools and methods all the way to presentation, speaking and communication training. Any employee who is interested may participate. h&z also supports further education outside of the company, for example to acquire an academic qualification.
Mentor support
The mentor program is an important part of personnel leadership and career planning. Each employee at h&z has a mentor from the partner and board member circle by his side from day one. The mentor assumes the role of direct supervisor and is the first contact person for career planning at h&z. Employees can discuss company goals with the mentor on a regular basis, define the goals of the employee and discuss their current development status. Based on these discussions, an annual training plan is developed and individual further education measures are added as necessary.
Work / Life Balance
We love consulting and we make it worth living. This also includes a reasonable strategy to balance work life and private life. That is why we are offering the following measures to promote work / life balance:
- Health and Sports
h&z initiates and promotes employee groups for different types of sports. There is a running group as well as climbing groups and a soccer group. We also ensure that our further education events always include elements of activity and sports. We also offer our employees an annual health checkup. - Retreats
Twice a year, we take several days off as a company. We do this to reflect on our work and to further develop as a company, but also to spend time together with sports, games and lots of fun. - Family & Job
At h&z, we place a high value on family. Family members are not only explicitly invited to company events – they also join us for retreats once a year. Furthermore, h&z supports all employees by providing individual solutions to find the best work / life balance.
