The “Great Restructuring” is taking place

Organizations today are faced with permacrisis: A decline of global trade, sanctions, rising energy cost, inflation and a war in Europe are just the tip of the iceberg. Hence, companies need to rethink and act in 2023: Many have already initiated cost reduction programs and lay-offs, some are confronted with rising liquidity issues. Commentators even call it the ‘Great Restructuring’ of 2023 which may be bigger and more widespread than anything that has ever been seen before.

At the same time, many business leaders have understood that in this time of great resignation and war for talent, people-centricity is key to attract and retain top talent. Both people-centricity and restructuring are important to be future-proof as companies, but they don’t go together very well. At least at first sight.
